The Cambridge Oak
Performed drawing as part of Chelsea Fringe. Cambridge University Botanic Gardens. 2015
59cm x 59cm. Using colours suggested by 42 people asked to choose one colour to draw a tree, with accompanying historical timeline sourced from Wikipedia on May 29 2015
The Cambridge Oak was planted around 1873. Over two days beside the Cambridge Oak, I drew one circle for each year of its life. The tree has developed a fungal infection and is now dying. A graft was planted on Cory Lawn in 1991 and is growing well.
